What is sin and salvation (being saved)?
Because God is our creator and designer and a God of love, He not only understands our innermost workings, but has a great desire to be intimately involved in our life. Being our Designer, He knows what will harm us physically, emotionally and spiritually. He created laws so we could see if we measure up. Because we cannot follow each one, we commit sin. We become chained to our sins, and God wants us free.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
...the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is through Jesus Christ.
Christ came to earth to be the perfect sacrifice for all our sins. He became sin for us so that God can no longer see our sins. What’s most incredible is that God transforms our heart and mind to be more in tune with His ways. We die to our old life and gain a new and life that no longer must be chained to sin. Peter, who was one of Jesus’ disciples, writes this in his letter (1 Peter 2:24):
So salvation or being saved is the remedy for the sin that prevents our having a relationship with God. We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God. (Acts 13:38-39)
