Live your life in light of the vapor.

Invitations are a bigger deal than we think. At the core, it touches on whether we feel like we belong. It's about acceptance. When we receive an invitation, we're honored. When we don't, we're hurt. We all want to be invited because we all want to be accepted. Though Jesus invites all of us to come and see, the invite is sent individually. So, here's the truth for you to know: The invite is for you.

Outer conflict stems from an inner war.

We may not admit it but our emotions tend to guide and shape us through many of the decisions we make in life. They serve as a compass that leads us from place to place. But emotions are not a good guide. Our desires can change as quickly as the wind. That's why it's good to remember: Following Jesus isn't about our desires; it's a daily decision.

If you've ever had to feel your way around a dark room, you know the frustration that can bring. You trip over a toy you told your kids to put away. You bump your shin on a coffee table you somehow forgot about. Your mind plays tricks with you as you see something in the corner. Our spiritual lives are much like that especially apart from Jesus. He could have left us in the dark but He chose to join us. Though He was our Creator, He brought us light. Here's the truth for today: your Creator cares.

Our truth for today is simple: say less.

What would it have felt like to wake up that Saturday morning? Thoughts of all Jesus went through haunt you. The tomb that holds the body of Jesus also holds your hope, peace, joy, and future. All of it now as lifeless as Jesus...until the first light of a new morning. There we learn that the empty tomb changes everything.
