When God called Israel out of Egypt, they were a nation without an identity. Nobody knew who they were, including themselves. Yet God was actively forming their identity through the events they would face. Through these experiences, they would come to know a new name of God, Jehovah-Nissi, the LORD our Banner. They would anchor their identity to the One who is greater than the times, the culture, and the temporary. Here's the one thing for today: Anchor your identity to eternity.

What do you do when your circumstances or trials feel unfair--or feel unlike the God you thought you knew? When the picture of life doesn't fit the picture of God? What do you do when your problems seem bigger than His promises? It is here that God reminds us that He is Jehovah-Jireh, the LORD our Provider. Here's what we learn: the God who sees your problem will see to your provision. So, let go and love God for who He is.

Jesus removed the locks, but only you can drop the chains.

Thank you for joining us on this very special Sunday! In this service, our youth and associate pastor, Connor Stark, will be ordained for pastoral ministry. Ordination is a time when the church recognizes and affirms the calling of God on a qualified candidate. In some ways, it is similar to the call of sanctification placed on every believer. In this message, we will see how Jehovah-M'Kaddesh, the LORD who sanctifies you, has set you apart to play a part. This is true for pastors, deacons, and all believers.

To be adopted by the King changes everything. That's the one thing we'll discuss tonight. We hope you are challenged and blessed by our time in God's Word.

Jehovah-Makkeh, the LORD who strikes, is a name that can make us uncomfortable--how can a loving God also be a striking God? There are many who have misunderstood this aspect of God. There are others who have weaponized it to get the things they want out of people. This is so damaging to the faith. That is why the major take away this week is very important to me: don't let a chastening hand mischaracterize a caring God.

Can you imagine life with no rules? As kids and teens, we probably all longed for the day when we would no longer be stuck under so many rules. What we didn't understand then is that rules are very helpful if they actually guide us all in a positive direction. God gave us the Law (Old Testament Commandments) for a reason. Paul has made it clear that the purpose of the Law was not to save us or make us righteous. So, what is its purpose then? That's what we want to focus on in this two part message. The Law was given to guide the lawless.
